Abstract

The Mathical Book Prize is awarded annually to fiction and nonfiction books for young people that can help readers see mathematics in the world around them. The 2021 Mathical Book Prize Winners and Honor books were announced in February 2021. Books were selected for five grade level categories, PreK-12. The Mathical website features all Prize Winner and Honor books from the first Mathical book selections in 2015, and additionally provides information and resources. Brief explanations of why literature for young people should be included in the mathematics classroom, such as real-world connections, inclusion, and reading/mathematics connections, is introduced.
