Stoddard looks at what preservice teachers actually notice when they describe the Standards for Mathematical Practice, and finds their attention drifts between broad ideas and specific actions depending on the standard. Two pieces test the early reach of generative AI in classrooms: Beauchamp, Walkington, and Bainbridge rewrite tasks around students’ interests with an AI tool, while Smiley, Sawyer, and Galano watch high schoolers treat Snapchat’s AI like Google and accept its mathematics without a second look.
The rest is mathematics for its own sake. Subramaniam proves a² − b² = (a + b)(a − b) without a word, Moyer continues his hyperbolic-geometry investigations in WebSketchpad, and Kaufman offers an alternative to Cantor’s diagonalization for the uncountability of the reals, written for students who never quite believed the original.
