Survival of the Fitness: Mathematical Activity as a Union of Content and Process
Abstract
Guided by an unexpected trigonometric argument offered by a student, this article proposes an evolutionary metaphor of fittest versus fitness as a way to envision mathematical activity that honors the intent of standards documents that include both process and content standards.
