Let's Talk Context

Abstract

In this article, I challenge popular lore that students hate “story problems,” offering ideas for how to select and teach with contextual modeling tasks to make the most of their potential to engage students. These tips are based on observations, interviews, and surveys with students in two 7th-grade classrooms.
